The Tomahawk track is a conversion kit that allows to have a 3" pitch track on a 2.52" pitch snowmobile which makes the snowmobile go faster, have better traction and reduce weight. On the other hand, some compatibility issues need to be addressed.
You should verify what size axle the snowmobile has and then choose the track as follows:
1" axle 04-640-100
1-1/16" axle 04-640-116
1-1/8" axle 04-640-116
1-1/4" axle 04-640-125
Then, the sprockets supplied with the TOMAHAWK track need 1/4" more clearence in the front of the tunnel compared to the original 9 tooth. if the snowmobile has a 10 tooth sprocket then, no additional clearence is needed. Also, you need to compare the height of the original track compared to the TOMAHAWK and if you plan to install studs, you have to leave a minimum of 1/2" of clearence to ensure the studs will not damage the tunnel or the heat exchangers.
Most of the Ski-doo models since 2001 have a 1-1/8" axle instead of a 1-1/4" as we specified in the catalogue so the track that you need ia a 04-640-116. But as for every case, you should verify what size axle you have on your snowmobile.
We also have noticed that the track fits extremely tight on Yamaha models in general. So we recommend that the track should not be used on Yamaha models. Some people have been able to make it work successfully but serious tweaking in necessary.
